Birdwatching:
Cape May County is the 10th most important birding
location in the world, and we are located on a flyway where
migrating birds travel from North America to South America.
The horseshoe crab, whose eggs feed the birds, spawns on the
Delaware Bay, and birders come from all over the world to watch the
Fall hawk migrations, and Spring bird arrivals. Over 250
species of raptors migrate here each year and songbirds and seabirds
come for the abounding vegetation of our wetlands. Call the
Cape May Bird Observatory, or the Audubon Society or Wetlands
Institute for information.
